On February 13, 2026, students majoring in Psychology and faculty members of the Department of General Scientific, Social and Behavioral Disciplines of Odesa Institute MAUP took part in a guest lecture entitled “Sexuality, Trauma, and Intimacy in the Experience of Military Personnel and Civilians.” The event was organized by the Department of Psychology of Melitopol State Pedagogical University named after Bohdan Khmelnytskyi.
The lecture was delivered by Viktoriia Bilan — a psychologist and sexologist with European professional experience (Ireland) and a volunteer of the Irish Red Cross.
During the meeting, participants explored contemporary practical approaches to working with issues of sexuality, traumatic experience, and interpersonal intimacy. Particular attention was devoted to the analysis of professional case studies and practical exercises, including the “Tree of Life” method, which participants had the opportunity to practice during the lecture.
In a clear, sensitive, and professionally profound manner, the speaker addressed complex aspects of intimate life, fostering an open dialogue with the audience and providing comprehensive answers to participants’ questions.
The Head of the Department of General Scientific, Social and Behavioral Disciplines, Doctor of Philosophy, Associate Professor Alla Nerubaska expressed sincere gratitude to the colleagues from the Department of Psychology of Melitopol State Pedagogical University named after Bohdan Khmelnytskyi for the invitation, the high level of event organization, and meaningful professional cooperation.
Such initiatives contribute to the professional development of students and academic staff, promote academic dialogue, and strengthen inter-university collaboration. The institute’s community expresses hope for further productive cooperation and the implementation of new joint educational projects.
